Expectations
Volunteer Expectations
There will be expectations for volunteers, you will have to attend an orientation to learn about our programs and expectations, then sign up to observe one or two sessions before starting as a volunteer. Once prepared, lead programs and manage the Zoom platform, while facilitating activities that engage participants and ensure everyone feels included. Communicate effectively with both participants and the program director, and be reliable by committing to your scheduled volunteer hours and signing up for programs each week using the virtual volunteer sign-up sheet.

Roles and Responsibilities
Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities
As a volunteer, your role includes hosting the Zoom meeting, admitting participants, and assisting interns by making them co-hosts. You’ll maintain order, answer questions, and consult with the program director after each session. You’ll also manage time, share screens for activities, guide participants through craft steps, and ensure everyone gets a turn during games or discussions. Additionally, you’re responsible for taking attendance and noting late arrivals, all while keeping the program on track and engaging for everyone.
Zoom Lead
Host the Zoom meeting. Admit participants and volunteers in the Zoom waiting room. Make sure yourself and all of the other interns are made Co-Host. Maintain order and keep participants on task. Assist other interns. Answer participant questions. Consult with the program director after each session.
Timekeeper
Ensure activities are allocated equal time. Adjust time as needed for the program to end on time.
Share Screen
Share your screen for games, crafts, or videos. Control the on-screen content.
Demonstrate
Guide participants through each craft step. Prepare necessary craft supplies beforehand.
Facilitate
Call on each participant in the order they appear on your screen for welcome circle, games and wrap up. Ensure all participants have a turn. Mute participants who talk out of turn or disrupt the program.
Attendance
Take attendance and note late arrivals of participants and interns.
